Today’s beginner dialogue teaches some vital sentences to use when shopping (买东西).

太…了(le) is a very useful construct. 太贵了 means “too expensive”, while 太矮了 means “too short”.

Simply place an adjective between 太 and 了.

我要买手表

小明：您好，我要买手表，这个多少钱？

服务员：500元。

小明：这个手表太贵了，有便宜点儿的吗？

服务员：您看这个黑色的，200元。

小明：还有其他颜色吗？

服务员：红色。

小明：那我买这个红色的手表吧。

小明：Hello, I want to buy a watch. How much money is this?

Shop assistant：500 yuan.

小明：This watch is too expensive, do you have anything cheaper?

Shop assistant：This black watch is 200 yuan.

小明：Does it come in other colors?

Shop assistant：Red.

小明：Then I will buy this red watch.
